A183 Coast Road Interim Newsletter Jan 2023

13 January 2023

Interim Newsletter Week Commencing Monday 16th January.
First published Friday 13th January 2023.
This is an interim edition of your regular newsletter to provide you with information regarding the temporary traffic layout currently in place on the A183 Coast Road as we undertake realignment works for South Tyneside Council.
Traffic disruption expected from Monday 16th January 2023
From Monday 16th January, temporary traffic lights will be in operation 24 hours a day to enable our workforce to safely undertake drainage works. These works will see us tap into the existing drainage line and construct a new manhole which will facilitate the realignment of the road.

We will endeavour to keep this period of disruption as short as possible, but please expect the temporary traffic lights to remain in use for approximately two weeks.

Please allow additional time for your journeys and be mindful of the road layout. There will be signage and cones in place to direct you into the correct running lane.
Think Safety
Whilst there are no public footpaths adjacent to the works, we do acknowledge that construction sites can be an attractive place to venture, especially for children.

Rest assured that areas of work will be secured at all times to ensure the safety of the public. Our compound will be entirely fenced off, allowing access to site personnel and deliveries of plant and materials only.
Your site contacts
There are several ways you can contact the site team to report faults, voice any concerns or ask any questions you may have.

The A183 Coast Road realignment scheme is managed by the following members of our experienced and highly approachable team: Tony Kilbane (Contracts Manager) and Tom McDonagh (Project Manager). Please rest assured there will always be a representative on site during working hours should you have you questions about the scheme.

To contact Howard Civil Engineering remotely, please contact your community liaison officer Sophie Henderson by emailing a183coastroad@howardcivileng.co.uk
