Germany Beck Newsletter 49

13 April 2018

Weeks 96 & 97 commencing Monday 16th April 2018

This is the 49th edition of the newsletter that keeps you up to date with the progress of the Germany Beck junction works on the A19 in Fulford.

I am pleased to inform you that the piling and also the use of 24hr temporary traffic signals on the A19 is now complete. Please accept our apologies for the increased disruption this has caused. We came across many obstructions in the ground during this element of the works which led to the piling taking longer than anticipated.

With the piling rig now left site we have been preparing the top of the sheet piles for the concrete capping beam.

A contractor working for Yorkshire Water is currently installing a new water main alongside the sheet piled wall.

Elsewhere on site tree and shrub planting has been carried out which should green up quickly in the next few months.

The wide footway/cycleway into the residential development has been surfaced.

During the next 2 weeks we will be commencing the construction of the capping beam to the top of the sheet piled wall on the A19.

The new water main installation will be complete.

We will be carrying out the remaining drainage works in the A19.

We will be importing more stone to construct the realigned Landings Lane.

Pedestrians will continue to use the new eastern footpath while the western footpath remains closed until the end of the works.

Elsewhere on site we are continuing the deep drainage installation for the new residential development but hampered by the continued torrential rainfall.

Here's hoping for some sunshine next week!

NO TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ANTICIPATED ON A19 FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS

New A19 footpath route

Safety for children and the wider public.

Please be assured that the different areas of works will be securely fenced at all times to ensure the safety of the public.
We will be receiving deliveries to site this week. Each delivery will be guided into site by one of our employees once traffic and pedestrians are clear from the site entrance. Please be patient if you are held up for a short time whilst these manoeuvres take place.
Pedestrians will be given right of way along the footpaths of Fordlands Road but please be aware of deliveries using the entrances to site off Fordlands Road on occasion
