Germany Beck Newsletter 59

31 August 2018

 Weeks 116 & 117 commencing Monday 3rd September 2018

This is the 59th edition of the newsletter that keeps you up to date with the progress of the Germany Beck junction works on the A19 in Fulford.

Works to complete the junction has seemed a little slow these past 4 weeks. However we've now re set the YW Manhole frame in the A19 to stop it rocking, cast the concrete structure across the Beck, placed copings along the western wall and generally tidied along the link road ready for Persimmon's marketing suite opening this weekend. The traffic signals have been tested and are ready to be turned on when we divert Fulford Road traffic onto the new junction in a couple of weeks time.

The flood alleviation area has benefited from the recent rain and is looking quite beautiful.

We have some adjustments to make to the crossings on the A19 this next coming week. The brickies will return to complete the wall over the beck and complete the last of the copings.

We are not expecting to need any traffic management on the A19 these next 2 weeks.

Pedestrians will continue to use the new eastern footpath while the western footpath remains closed until the end of the works.

Elsewhere on site we are continuing with drainage installation, the deep foul sewer diversion and the first roads into the new residential development.
