This is the fourth newsletter, providing you with information regarding the road works on Otley Road for the new Charles Church Residential Development.
During the past 2 weeks we have been continuing the widening work opposite the Charles Church development entrance.
2 way traffic signals continue to be in operation on Otley Road providing us with a safe zone in which to construct the works and also provide a safe route for the public while the footpath is under construction.
We receive regular inspections by representatives of North Yorkshire County Council to monitor the quality of our work and check that the traffic is being safely managed with minimum disruption.
During this past week we have been notified by the council that we can continue our work through the lead up to Christmas and not break off for the Christmas Embargo period. The council have assessed that this will cause less disruption in the long term as it enables us to complete the works in a much shorter time frame.
During the next 2 weeks we will continue to use the 2 way temporary traffic signals on Otley Road. They will remain in operation 24hrs per day for the next few weeks.
We will commence laying kerbs down the side of the road which will form the new edge of the carriageway.
We will be installing the foul rising main across Otley Road into site.
The traffic signals will be monitored during the day on week days to ensure that traffic does not build up too much in either direction.
