This is the 28th edition of the newsletter that keeps you up to date with the progress of the Germany Beck junction works on the A19 in Fulford.
During the past 2 weeks we have commenced installation of the attenuation (water storage) drainage system within the carriageway embankment. The image below shows the excavation for one of the large manholes.
Northern Gas diversion works have been continuing adjacent to the A19. The second image shows the chambers that provide access to the valves of the new water main into the new residential development.
During the next 2 weeks we will be -
• Carrying out Northern Gas connections within the A19. This will require 'off peak' temporary traffic lights on the A19 for a period of 2 weeks (week days only). These are the delayed works described within your previous newsletter. • Backfilling gas main trenches within the carriageway embankment. • The installation of the elliptical pipes within the carriageway embankment to the east of Fordlands Road. • Commencing the brick parapet walls to the capping beam.
The closure of the eastern footpath on the A19 remains in place.
From Monday 26th June traffic lights will be in use on a daily basis during 'off peak' times for a period of approximately 2 weeks (week days only). Please be warned that a further period of 24hr traffic lights will be required on the A19 to make the final gas connection onto the old pipe. Further details will be issued in your next newsletter when we have confirmed the dates.
Provision for pedestrians and others using the footpaths will be maintained during these operations. Please follow the directions provided by the signs.
