Germany Beck

Germany Beck Newsletter 32

11 August 2017

Weeks 62 & 63 commencing Monday 14th August 2017

This is the 32nd edition of the newsletter that keeps you up to date with the progress of the Germany Beck junction works on the A19 in Fulford.
During the past two weeks works have continued to install the elliptical storage pipes within the embankment to the east of Fordlands Road.
The brickwork walls to the top of the sheet piled retaining walls also continue.
Works to the A19 have temporarily stalled whilst we wait for the Medium Pressure Gas Main diversion to be carried out.

During the next 2 weeks we will be -

• Continuing brickwork walls to the sheet-piled retaining walls
• Progressing the spine road roadworks to the east of Fordlands Road.
• Installing a temporary footpath within Persimmon's field alongside Germany Lane to maintain the Public Right of Way along Germany Lane while surface water outfalls into Germany Beck are installed. Pedestrians using Germany Lane will be directed by signs and fencing onto the footpath diversion.
Northern Gas Networks will be commencing the medium pressure gas main diversion in the A19

The closure of the eastern footpath on the A19 remains in place.

WARNING - 24HR TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON THE A19 FOR 4 WEEKS COMMENCING MONDAY 14TH AUGUST.

Over the next 4 weeks Northern Gas Networks will be carrying out the medium pressure gas main diversion within the A19. This will commence on the Monday 14th August.

Advance warning signs have been in place this week warning of the anticipated delays.
I would advise you to seek alternative routes during this period although I appreciate that this will not be possible for local residents and businesses.

Provision for pedestrians and others using the footpaths will be maintained during these operations. Please follow the directions provided by the signs.
We apologise for any inconvenience for those delayed due to the traffic lights caused by these necessary works.

Safety for children and the wider public.

Please be assured that the different areas of works will be securely fenced at all times to ensure the safety of the public.
We will be receiving deliveries to site this week. Each delivery will be guided into site by one of our employees once traffic and pedestrians are clear from the site entrance. Please be patient if you are held up for a short time whilst these manoeuvres take place.
Pedestrians will be given right of way along the footpaths of Fordlands Road but please be aware of deliveries using the entrances to site off Fordlands Road on occasion.
