Greengates Junction Newsletter No 37

08 July 2022

Your final Greengates junction newsletter

Newsletter No 37. First published Friday 8th July 2022.

We are pleased to say that Howard Civil Engineering's work to widen Greengates junction is now complete.

All traffic management measures have been removed and the stretch of road is free for motorists to enjoy. Pedestrians will benefit from the eight new traffic islands constructed around the junction, and there are new dedicated lanes in place for cyclists to navigate the junction safely.

These improvements will ease congestion and improve traffic flow - everything the 2025 City of Culture needs!

There are some outstanding items which will be completed in the coming weeks, including landscaping and bench installation.

Bradford Council will also be working to optimise the traffic signal operation over the coming months by monitoring and evaluating the impact of these improvement works.

We at Howard Civil Engineering would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding throughout the duration of these works. It has been a pleasure to meet, engage, and connect with members of the local community and we are delighted to open the road up to Greengates locals and users.

We are thrilled to announce that since our works commenced on the junction, we have contributed over £9,500 and volunteered over 35 working days to the Bradford community, including raising over £2,100 for Mind in Bradford at Tough Mudder, donning pink hi-vis vests for Bosom Friends Bradford, and giving Greengates Primary Academy's playground a whole new look over summer 2021.

Finally, we would especially like to thank the Friends of Greengates community who have been supportive throughout the duration of the works and have updated the community noticeboard with these newsletters for everyone to read.
