Gateway 36 Newsletter No 3

05 February 2021

Gateway 36 Newsletter No 3 Week commencing Monday 8th February. First published Friday 5th February.

Each fortnight, these e-newsletters will provide you with updates on progress, traffic management and any potential disruption surrounding the Gateway 36 development in Rockingham. Please note these works will be ongoing until Summer 2021.

Progress, the past two weeks

Traffic management measures have been in place on Dearne Valley Parkway Westbound from Monday 11th January to enable the construction of a new access road off Shortwood Roundabout.

Over the past two weeks we have progressed work to form this new access road including excavations, which will enable us to form the new entrance, and the installation of surface water drainage. Existing streetlights have been disconnected and removed to facilitate the formation of this new road.

On Tuesday 2nd February, our operations were temporarily ground to a halt due to heavy snowfall. Please rest assured that every effort is being made to overcome this setback and minimise prolonged disruption to local residents and commuters.

The next two weeks

Please note that current traffic management measures will remain in place over the next two weeks.

During this period, we will continue work to construct the new access road off Shortwood Roundabout, including the placing and compaction of stone, the installation of drainage such as road gullies, and preparation for kerbing and path edgings.

We will also continue ongoing work on the Gateway 36 development, including installing drainage systems and headwalls to the new attenuation ponds.
