KEY RESPONSIBILITY
HEALTH & SAFETY
Health, safety, quality, and environmental considerations are foundational elements of our day-to-day civil engineering operations.
OVERVIEW
MAINTAINING OUR
HIGH STANDARDS
We consistently monitor specific key performance indicators to measure our progress and ensure best practice is actioned and implemented from the start. Howard Civil Engineering’s robust Health and Safety policy – which has been developed in accordance with OHSAS 18001 – and our quality management system were both born from our belief that the health, safety, and welfare of both our teams and the surrounding community is paramount.
FURTHER INFORMATION
IT DOESN’T STOP THERE
We place significant emphasis on implementing safe systems of work, investing in safer technology and plant, as well as making sure our workforce is trained and informed of the latest health and safety guidance.
Our colleagues are individually assessed to establish their training requirements, and each employee is provided with a specific training programme to meet their needs. As a bare minimum, all operatives are CSCS registered, and all supervisors are 5-day SMSTS qualified.
These commitments are supported by several accreditations which directly influence how we undertake health and safety assessments and precautions.
