Water treatment works upgrade in Huddersfield

26 May 2017

Spending the summer on an operational sewerage treatment works is not everyone's first choice of site but we are very pleased to be working with Morgan Sindall SWECO Joint Venture on the upgrade to the Clayton West Water Treatment Works, part of the AMP6 Medium Treatment Framework. The works include  the civils element of the upgrade that is required to the treatment facility which currently serves a growing population of 17,800.

Further suppliers, employed by the client, will be responsible for the supply of plant and equipment to be installed on completion of the civils works.

In brief the civils package includes the works to provide the following

  • 9m x 9m x 6m deep reinforced concrete tank

  • 8m deep shaft driven wet well

  • Associated 500mm and 150mm dia ductile iron gravity pipework and associated manholes and overflow structures with equipment plinths and bases

  • Associated access roads and footpaths and landscaping
