Lane closures on A629 continue. ************DISRUPTION EXPECTED***********

Welcome to your fourteenth newsletter providing you with information regarding the Hard Ings Road Improvement scheme in Keighley.
It's still raining!

The big change this week is the introduction of the lane closures on the A629 which has caused the expected added disruption to the local travelling public.

We have commenced with the works to narrow the central reservation on the A629 approach to Beechcliffe roundabout. Once complete, the central reservation work will be followed by works to the nearside verge. This will ultimately result in a third lane on the A629 approach to Beechcliffe roundabout, improving traffic flow onto the widened Hard Ings Road.

We have also been installing ducts around the periphery of the roundabout for the traffic signals which will be installed towards the end of the works.

Yorkshire Water have commenced the main water main diversion works. NGN (GAS) has been making their final connections drawing their work to an end.

The stone walls to Fibreline are finally near completion.

Work for the next 2 weeks

Further phases of traffic management will be installed on Beechcliffe Roundabout this week. This should cause no additional disruption but please be aware that your usual alignment around the roundabout may alter from day to day.
We will be carrying out rendering to the blockwork walls of Fibreline and commencing installing the new fencing and gates in the same area.
The central reservation work on the A629 will continue. We'll be installing the ducts and chambers for the future traffic signals and street lighting and establishing the new kerb lines.

Temporary traffic signals on Hard Ings Road Sunday 17th November.

Yorkshire Water will be completing their road crossing across Hard Ings Road on Sunday 17th November.
No traffic signals this Sunday 10th due to the Remembrance Parade.

Lane closures on A629 continue. ******DISRUPTION EXPECTED ******

We anticipate the lane closures on the A629 will remain in place until early spring. This will continue to cause traffic disruption in the area, especially at peak times.
We would advise you to take alternative routes during this time, if possible, and also allow extra time for your journeys, both at peak times and throughout the day.
Please bear with us during this period of increased traffic disruption, necessary for the resulting long term improvements to your road network.
The diagram below shows which lanes of the A629 are currently closed; the lanes closest to the central reservation. Please be aware that there will also be lane closures around the roundabout as usual.

Affected bus routes on Lawkholme Lane

The following diversions remain in place by the bus companies previously using the now closed Lawkholme Lane junction.

Hard Ings Road/Lawkholme Lane, Keighley - P23 Steeton Primary

Route P23 for Steeton Village Primary School will have an amended route. There will be no pick up on Lawkholme Lane.
AM: the bus will start at the bus stop on Skipton Road at East Avenue (08:22) then along Skipton Road to Devonshire Street and the usual route thereafter. Therefore the bus will not operate along Lawkholme Lane.
PM: as per the usual route from the school as far as the roundabout at Skipton Road/Hard Ings then continue along Skipton Road (16:10 at East Avenue) toward Devonshire Street and the usual route thereafter.
Those passengers who usually board or alight at the stops at the top of Lawkholme Lane near Hard Ings are advised to use the bus stop on Skipton Road at East Avenue.
This amendment will continue for the duration of the works at Hard Ings or until such time the turn restriction is lifted.
