From smashing our CSR targets and to securing our first (and second, and third!) framework award, it’s fair to say that 2021 has been a whirlwind of a year.
Over the past 12 months we have secured 14 new contracts, five of which are for brand new clients, and successfully completed multiple projects across the region.
Let’s take a look at the rundown of the biggest project news from 2021:

2021 has been a year full of ups and downs for everyone as we emerge from the pandemic, but at Howard Civil Engineering there has still been a lot to celebrate! In August, we made the move into our brand-new office which will house all companies of the Howard Group under one roof. We also achieved over 90% in all of our internal health and safety inspections on each site across the year!

- Cromwell Gardens team were the four-time winners of ENGIE’s subcontractor of the month
- Engineer Brendan O’Hara completed his apprenticeship
- Graduate quantity surveyor Ben Pritchard became fully qualified
- We employed our first apprentice from Rotherham Skills Academy
It wasn’t just internally that there was cause to celebrate – we also helped our local communities have a fantastic year!
In January 2021, we set ourselves the target of contributing £50,000 and volunteering 50 working days to our local communities, and we are thrilled to say that we not only achieved these figures but surpassed them!
In 2021, Howard Civil Engineering has contributed £53,921 to our local communities and volunteered over 54 working hours to benefit causes, community groups, and charities across Yorkshire.

- Helping the homeless back on their feet in Armley

Howard Civil Engineering has already secured approximately £29m worth of work for 2022, so we are very excited to get stuck into what we hope will be a very prosperous year.
