Congratulations to Ben Williams having been recently promoted to Contracts Manager. Ben is the result of the successful apprenticeship programme run at Howard Civil Engineering.
Ben joined Howard Civil Engineering at sixteen in 2007 straight from school, and progressed from site labourer to senior site engineer within seven years. Now in 2018 he is one of two Contracts Managers responsible for the overall management of several contracts.
HCE’s encouragement, support and investment in Ben’s vocational education, onsite experience and CPD has seen Ben propelled into the popular manager he is today.
HCE MD Michael Howard commented, “Our apprentices are key to our sustained growth and profitability. The Apprenticeship programme underpins our vision and ethos of being the best and investing in lifelong learning.”
HCE measures the success of its Apprenticeship programme via a series of Key Performance Indicators which include feedback from clients and partners, managers and mentors and from Leeds City College – the learning provider.
The programme’s success is also evaluated by the number of apprentices who stay on after completing their training. Most attend Leeds College of Building one day a week.
