Gateway 36 Newsletter No 17

03 September 2021

Gateway 36 Newsletter No 17 Week commencing Monday 6th September. First published Friday 3rd September.

Welcome to the Gateway 36 e-newsletter. Each fortnight, these e-newsletters will provide you with updates on progress, traffic management and any potential disruption surrounding the Gateway 36 development in Rockingham. Please note that due to delays on behalf of Yorkshire Water, works will be ongoing until autumn 2021.

Progress, the past four weeks

We are pleased to say that we have completed earthworks on Phases 2 and 3 of the Gateway 36 development.

Works to form the new roundabout, which will provide access into Phase 3 of the development, have advanced on both sides of Dearne Valley Parkway. These works have been facilitated by lane closures which are currently in place. We have successfully diverted the water mains, installed the vehicle restraint system, and erected new street lighting columns on this phase of work.

We are preparing to switch over the lane closures on September 10th which will allow us to work within the existing dual carriageway and continue with the completion of the roundabout.

The next four weeks

Work to form the new roundabout into phase 3 of the development will continue over the next month. We are looking forward to commencing work on the central section of the roundabout which, once complete, will allow us to tarmac the roundabout.

Please note the current traffic management layout will switch from 10th September. Vehicles will be diverted onto the new section of roundabout to allow us to complete our works along Dearne Valley Parkway. Please follow the signs and speed limits in place.

Should you experience or witness an out-of-hours emergency regarding the traffic management measures in place, please call RTS on 01724 848 246.

All works are scheduled to be complete for autumn 2021.
