Background

We are thrilled to be once again working alongside Caddick Construction, this time on a new Grade A office development in the centre of Bradford.

Sitting on the site of the former Tyrls Police Station, One City Park is a 8,600sq metre, five-storey Grade A office building and will cost approximately £35m to complete.

This development is one of Bradford’s biggest regeneration projects in recent years and it is hoped that the building will attract new businesses to the city centre, creating 450 jobs. As such, the project has received funding from Bradford Council, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and the UK Government.

Following our successful delivery of three reinforced concrete frames for Caddick Construction at Hudson Quarter in York, Howard Civil Engineering has been awarded a £3.5m contract to deliver the reinforced concrete core and slabs on this new development.

Scope of works

  • Installing two reinforced concrete cores which are over 22m high each
  • Tight site footprint
  • Rigorous planning and phasing to ensure on-time delivery and make certain the date for the steel frame commencement is not compromised
  • Utilising Doka-Slipform method, the first time Doka have used method in the UK
  • Almost 4000m³ of concrete to be used across the scheme
  • Six slabs to be installed totalling 7000m² of mesh
  • 2600m² of paving including works to a mirror pool
