BACKGROUND
Set to sprawl over 10 acres of land, Olive Lane is an upcoming mixed-use development which will form the heart of the Waverley community in Rotherham.
Olive Lane is set to comprise retail units, a gym, offices, restaurants and cafes, a supermarket, a medical centre, community space, a bus hub and residential development, all of which will create a vibrant centre for local people.
Howard Civil Engineering has been appointed by our client Harworth Group to prepare the site for mixed-use. This is our second project for Harworth following the successful delivery of works at Gateway 36, Rockingham.
Initially, these construction works will see us undertake preparatory works for the new development, including site clearance and earthworks to the development platform.
Once these operations are complete, we will then proceed to install new foul-and-storm-water drainage systems. These works require us to make modifications to and divert the current drainage systems in place on Stephenson Way where necessary.
We will also be undertaking S278 and S38 works to create new access and egress points to the site, form new roads and footpaths within the development, modify Stephenson Way, and remodel the current entrance to AMRC Training Centre.
These works must be conducted with the utmost sympathy towards our local community. In addition to working alongside a number of residential areas in close proximity to the site, we will be operating next to a live highway and must maintain access for motorists and pedestrians throughout the duration of our S278 works.
