Howard Civil Engineering begins work next month on the provision of the 23,000m2 site compound in readiness for the Costain works to improve the A160/A180 junction in Immingham. The improvement works will provide better access to the Port of Immingham and the surrounding area. Improving this link is necessary to stimulate growth and unlock economic benefits in the area.
Howard Civil Engineering are pleased to have made a start on another educational facility. The civils package to this brand new school in Doncaster was let by Wilmott Dixon, the Main Contractor for the delivery of the school.
Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council used a Sunesis (pre designed buildings) solution for its first new primary school in 30 years to deliver the Carr Lodge Academy.
With the school due to open in September 2015 a good start is imperative.
HCE have been awarded a £3m contract to support Sir Robert McAlpine on the prestigious new retail development in Leeds City Centre. The project involved over 30 retail outlets including a John Lewis and various food outlets. Work will commence in October 2014 until the summer of 2015. The project value is £3million.
Bam have awarded Howard Civil Engineering Ltd the groundwork and externals contract for the new Don Valley school, based on the site of the now demolished Don Valley Stadium. The £17m super school will cater for primary and secondary school pupils from the age of two to the age of sixteen and will also house a Community Centre. The school is due to open in September 2015.
After a lengthy period of negotiation HCE were finally successful in securing the contract for the groundworks for the extension to the Goole Academy. The works involved a refurb of the existing building and a large extension providing a state of the art school for the region. The contract vale to HCE will be in the region of £500k.
On the back of securing the Goole Academy, HCE were also successful in securing the Prince Edward Primary School in Sheffield. This new state of the art school will replace the existing school which had seen better days. HCE will be working on the project for 6 months and the school will be ready for the 2015.
