This is the 10th edition of the newsletter that will keep you up to date with the progress of the road works on Bochum Parkway.

Good progress has again been made in all areas these past 2 weeks as we prepare for surfacing week commencing 25th September.

The drainage has been completed in the new filter lane at the entrance to the retail park. Final trimming of the stone has commenced.

We have carried out the alterations to the footpath adjacent to the widened carriageway at the Norton Lane access. The stone has been trimmed on the adjacent widened carriageway.

We have prepared the service entrance off Dyche Lane ready for surfacing.

The new 'grasscrete' hardstanding is being laid in the roundabout.

Works to provide new carriageway lanes in the central reservations have continued.

Lane closures to Bochum Parkway have been in operation every day to provide safe areas of work for our operatives as they work alongside the live carriageway

Night time work at Meadowhead roundabout, Norton Lane widening, Bochum Parkway and Dyche Lane

Night time working is planed (7pm - 7am) this coming Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Thursday night (26th, 27th & 28th). This is to enable us to lay tarmac to the roundabout and also at the widened section adjacent to Norton Lane.

We will also surface the service road access into the retail park off Dyche Lane at this time and carry out drainage crossings across the Bochum Parkway carriageway.

All roads will remain open in all directions.

Carrying out this work at night is due to a restriction placed upon us by Sheffield County Council.

We apologise in advance and hope that this work will not cause our neighbours too much disturbance.

Weekday lane clouures Bochum Parkway

Lane closures will be in place during weekdays from 9.30am to 4.00pm. The affected roads will remain open in all directions. This is to enable works adjacent to the live carriageway to be carried out safely. This is likely to impact the traffic using Bochum Parkway and the surrounding areas. Please allow extra time for your journeys through the area or seek alternative routes.

Closure of the pedestrian crossing adjacent to Meadowhead Roundabout.

The pedestrian crossing will remain closed. Pedestrians wishing to cross the road at this point are directed to the next traffic signal crossing opposite Dyche Lane. See below. Please advise your children walking to school that this crossing is closed and will remain closed until the completion of the works and to use the alternative crossing.

Closure of the western access to Norton Lane off Bochum Parkway.

This access will remain closed full time for the next few months. Vehicular access to Norton Lane can by made by using the eastern Norton Lane access off Bochum Parkway. We appreciate that this will cause some inconvenience to those living on Norton Lane.

Safety for children and the wider public

We acknowledge that construction sites can be attractive places for children.
Please be assured that once underway, the different areas of works will be securely fenced at all times to ensure the safety of the public. Deep excavations within our works, for drainage for example, will have further fencing erected around them.

Please be aware of slow moving plant and wagons making deliveries and accessing different areas of the site from the live carriageway.

Please be mindful of the speed limit of 40 mph when driving through the works.
