We recognize we are in a position of influence, and will always strive to reduce any impact our work may have on the environment whether from responsible sourcing of materials by our procurement department, our comprehensive waste management policies (in line with WRAP protocol) or site specific issues like monitoring and controlling noise levels.
We operate a comprehensive environmental management system that is accredited to ISO 14001:2004 standards. Some of our initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our work include:
We have a policy of waste reduction in place across all our sites that allows us to monitor the waste produced on site and identify areas where it can be reduced, we also have a comprehensive system of reusing materials wherever possible, where this is not possible all our waste streams are separated and recycled to minimisethe environmental impact of the waste we produce and minimisethe percentage of our waste that we send to landfill.
We have an ongoing policy of replacing old vehicles, plant and machinery with more efficient vehicles, plant and machinery once they have reached the end of their useful working life. By doing this we aim to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of our fleet of plant and machinery to minimise their impact on the environment.
