14 July 2020

Newsletter 10  First published Tuesday 14th July.

Welcome to newsletter number 10 providing you with information regarding the roadworks to Penny Pot Lane.

Progress, the past two weeks

We have commenced work breaking out the existing footpath and kerbs to the remaining area to the bellmouth.

Works are also continuing up the lane as planned with the installation of the surface water pipe work. The final leg has begun from Youngman Drive are hoping for completion of all the works by 29th August. The road will be closed from Monday 3rd August to help us achieve this deadline. Please take a read of the traffic management plans below if you think these works may affect your journey.

Traffic Management plans

Temporary traffic signals at the Persimmon entrance on Penny Pot Lane have been re-established, and will be in place until our road closure commenced on 3rd August. These lights will be manually operated between 7am – 7pm

The temporary traffic signals on Penny Pot Lane have moved up the lane from Youngman Drive and continue up to the site where the
surface water pipe/connection crosses the road and into the site entrance. These signals will remain in operation until Monday 3rd August.

Please pass the through the lights with care there are no longer two sets of lights. There is now only one set of lights which controlls both sets of work areas with a chicane in the middle.

Please note that road closure is scheduled for the Monday 3rd August for four weeks. All access in to the estates will be kept open during the road closure, and affected households will be given further notices of diversion routes and access during this period via a letter drop.

Please be assured that pedestrian and cycle access through this area will remain open at all times.

We would also like to politely remind everyone that the speed limit within the traffic scheme is 30mph.

A small number of cars passing our work area have been exceeding the speed limit. This is dangerous for our team on site and members of the public within the vicinity. Your compliance with the speed limit is greatly appreciated.
