This is the seventh newsletter, providing you with information regarding the road works on Otley Road for the new Charles Church Residential Development.
Last week the freezing temperatures scuppered our plans for surfacing the widened section of the carriageway and the footpath opposite the development entrance.
We cannot progress onto the other side of the road until this side is completed so we are currently re-arranging another date for our surfacing sub contractor to return.
The 2 way traffic signals will remain in operation until the surfacing of the widened section is complete.
Once the widened section has been surfaced we will move across the road and complete the carriageway construction to the entrance of the site.
Traffic using Otley Road will be guided across into the new section to provide us with the room to complete the other side. Pedestrians will use the new footpath.
Because the road has been widened substantially, during this period of work we can remove the temporary 2 way traffic signals.
Please note that the works at the Beckwith Head/Cragg Lane junction are being carried out for the Taylor Wimpey development and are unrelated to these works.
However, we are in constant contact with Taylor Wimpey to ensure that both works can proceed safely at the same time.
