Good morning all. I need to apologise for the late removal of the road closure on Otley Road this morning. I am absolutely appalled that this has happened.
We are investigating exactly why this happened but it resulted in the road not being opened until around eight o’clock this morning.
The road closure will be in place again tonight (Thursday) and the following 3 nights to complete the foul sewer connection in the Beckwith Head Road Junction. In between these nighttime road closures 4 way traffic signals will operate on the junction during the day.
I am very sorry if this has impacted your journey this morning.
On the night of Wednesday 16th January we will be returning to the junction with Beckwith Head Road to complete the foul sewer rising main connection into an existing foul sewer located within the junction.
Because of the space we need to carry this out we need to temporarily fully close Otley Road. To minimize the inconvenience to local traffic and businesses we will be carrying out these works at night only.
The road closures are booked for 5 nights, Wednesday (16th) night, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, from 7pm until 6am.
The agreed diversion route is via Beckwith Head Road, Howhill Quarry Road and Howhill Road.
Access to businesses and residences on the section of road that will be closed will be available from the Howhill Road end.
