Hard Ings Newsletter No 21

21 February 2020

Newsletter No 21. Week commencing Monday 24th February. Weeks 42 - 43. (First published Friday 21st Feb)
WARNING - TRAFFIC SIGNALS THIS SUNDAY 23rd HARD INGS ROAD

Welcome to newsletter number 21 providing you with information regarding the Hard Ings Road Improvement scheme in Keighley.

We hope you continue to find this newsletter useful.

Progress, the past 2 weeks

We've been battling the storms these past 2 weeks to progress the works on Hard Ings Road.
We've installed the street lighting columns down Hard Ings Road and you may have noticed, they are now lit.
We've recommenced drainage works across the frontage of the Allotments and Fibreline now that the service diversions are complete in that area.

Yorkshire Water have almost finished their diversion works. Due to clashes with unforeseen underground obstructions, other services, uncovering old sensitive mains, and the resulting redesign of the YW diversion work, this has taken a lot longer than we all anticipated.

On the A629 the main kerbs and gullies are complete up to the tie in with Beechcliffe Roundabout

The next 2 weeks

The new street lighting columns and sign posts will be going up on the A629 followed by the replacement vehicle crash barrier.

We will be progressing the drainage works in front of Fibreline.

We will be carrying out some more duct crossing across Hard Ings Road near the Keighley Retail Park. We do not need traffic signals for these particular crossings.

TRAFFIC SIGNALS IN OPERATION ON HARD INGS ROAD THIS SUNDAY 23rd - DELAYS EXPECTED

This Sunday we will be removing the old street lighting columns on Hard Ings Road.
We need to position our wagon in the live carriageway to do this so will be undertaking these works under traffic signals on Sunday 23rd February.
The traffic signals will move down the road as the works to remove the columns progress.
There may be short durations (less than 2 minutes) when we have to switch both signals to red, especially in these winds, in the final stages of pulling out each column to ensure the safety of our workforce and the public.
The wind will be assessed at the time.
Please be aware that this may cause delays to those travelling through the area.
All shops and businesses remain open and accessible at all times.
Thank you for continuing to bear with us.
