Germany Beck Newsletter 33

25 August 2017

Weeks 64 & 65 commencing Monday 28th August 2017

This is the 33rd edition of the newsletter that keeps you up to date with the progress of the Germany Beck junction works on the A19 in Fulford.
During the past two weeks we have been completing the footpaths in the vicinity of Fordlands Road.
The elliptical storage pipe installation within the embankment to the east of Fordlands Road is now complete and we have been bringing the embankment up to level ready for kerbing.
The brickwork walls to the top of the sheet piled retaining walls continue.
We have been making some adjustments to a deep YW manhole adjacent to Fordlands Road
NPG continue to excavate pits within the A19 to locate the medium pressure gas main prior to diverting it.
Preparation to install two drainage pipe outfalls into Germany Beck has taken place.

During the next 2 weeks we will be -

• Continuing brickwork walls to the sheet-piled retaining walls
• Progressing the spine road roadworks with kerbs and gullies to the east of Fordlands Road.
• Installing surface water outfalls into Germany Beck. Pedestrians using Germany Lane will be directed by signs and fencing onto the footpath diversion.
Northern Gas Networks will be continuing their work with the medium pressure gas main diversion in the A19

The closure of the eastern footpath on the A19 remains in place

WARNING - 24HR TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON THE A19 FOR 4 WEEKS COMMENCING MONDAY 14TH AUGUST.

Over the next couple of weeks Northern Gas Networks will continue the medium pressure gas main diversion within the A19.

I would advise you to seek alternative routes during this period although I appreciate that this will not be possible for local residents and businesses.
Provision for pedestrians and others using the footpaths will be maintained during these operations. Please follow the directions provided by the signs.
We apologise for any inconvenience for those delayed due to the traffic lights caused by these necessary works.

Safety for children and the wider public.

Please be assured that the different areas of works will be securely fenced at all times to ensure the safety of the public.
We will be receiving deliveries to site this week. Each delivery will be guided into site by one of our employees once traffic and pedestrians are clear from the site entrance.

Please be patient if you are held up for a short time whilst these manoeuvres take place.
Pedestrians will be given right of way along the footpaths of Fordlands Road but please be aware of deliveries using the entrances to site off Fordlands Road on occasion.
