After many months of planning Howard Civil Engineering Ltd are to commence works for Persimmon Homes to construct a new junction off the busy A19, one of the main routes into York, into a locally sensitive site.
Once complete the works will allow access into the proposed residential development site Germany Beck. A new junction will be created which will operate under signal control, providing access to the new housing site but also to the current community living on Fordlands Road. The highway scheme will in addition, provide flood protection to the A19.
Alongside Persimmon Homes, Howard Civil Engineering will be keeping all local interested residents and businesses informed of the progression of the junction works through a series of newsletters. If you want to stay informed you can sign up to the newsletter below. The newsletters will also be published here, so you can scroll through past issues.
Says Lucie Jones, Community Liaison Officer, of Howard Civil Engineering, ‘We want to keep the public informed as much as possible. By engaging with the public at the start and throughout the project we hope to address individual concerns.’
The works are due to start on site in June and will continue through until March 2017. The first newsletter will be published early June.
