Welcome to the Gateway 36 e-newsletter. Each fortnight, these e-newsletters will provide you with updates on progress, traffic management and any potential disruption surrounding the Gateway 36 development in Rockingham. Please note these works will be ongoing until Summer 2021.
Progress, the past two weeks
We have continued to form the new S278 roundabout along the western side of Dearne Valley Parkway which will facilitate entry to Phase 3 of the Gateway 36 scheme. Traffic management measures to close lanes remain in place in this area.
Major earthworks have continued on the main development of site.
The next two weeks
This new traffic management layout will be in place long-term whilst work to construct the new roundabout is ongoing.

Over the next two weeks, work to form the new S278 roundabout will continue on both sides of Dearne Valley Parkway as we prepare the new carriageway for surfacing. Works will include the placement of stone and ducting for incoming service utilities and diversions. Following these works, in the near future, kerbs and tarmac will be laid, and new street lighting and signage will be erected.
On the main development site, earthworks will continue.
All works are scheduled to be complete for summer 2021.
We are pleased to say that throughout the month of May, Howard Civil engineering offset 105.74mt CO2e on this site - achieving CCB Gold! This mitigates the use of 41,533 litres of Gasoil for the same period. This has been compensated for by investing in both the Katingan Peatland Reforestation and Conservation Project and the 86 MW Hydro Project in Himachal Pradesh.

Please rest assured there will always be a representative on site during working hours should you have you questions about the scheme.
