Background

Howard Civil Engineering supported Balfour Beatty in building the £22m Skegness Academy. The Academy replaced the St Clements College and The Earl of Scarborough High.

The programme included the demolition of many buildings and the refurbishment of other buildings. As well as state-of-the-art accommodation for over 1300 pupils, a multi-use games area and a long jump pit have also been constructed. The Skegness Academy was a finalist in the State School of the Year category at the prestigious Aviva and Daily Telegraph School Sport Matters Awards.

The construction programme commenced in May 2011 and was successfully handed over in July 2013.

  • Early involvement allowed fabrication of retaining wall to be done off-site
