Bam were appointed as principal contractor on a batch of schools in the Derbyshire under the Government Priority Schools programme. Howard Civil Engineering Ltd were subsequently awarded the groundworks and externals package on the £12million Lees Brook school in Derby. This represented Howard Civil Engineering's first project for Bam Midlands.
The project involved the construction of a state of the art three-floor main building for 1,100 pupils aged 11 to 16. It also included the refurbishing of the sports hall and creating new changing rooms, utilising the existing land and creating a new recreational landscape.
The school was officially open for business in August 2014.
