Background

Howard Civil Engineering is delivering a £2m groundworks package on the initial phase of Leeds City Council’s General Needs Housing scheme for our longstanding client, Wates Group.

This development of 41 homes in Seacroft is part of Leeds City Council’s Council House Growth Programme.

Due to significant topographical challenges on this site, intense planning and coordination was required to ensure the works are delivered safety and efficiently. This includes the installation of a precast concrete culvert almost 6m deep in the adopted highway to provide an attenuation solution.

Scope

  • Delivery of foundations and retaining walls
  • Drainage works for S104 adoption including large attenuation solution
  • Installation and diversion of services
  • External works & Landscaping
  • S38 and S278 highways
