Howard Civil Engineering were employed by our new client, Hollycroft Construction to deliver the reinforced concrete frame.
Due to obstructions in the ground, the piling and groundworks (undertaken by others) took longer than initially envisaged and we worked with our client to establish a delivery that maintained the main contract programme. Our openness and flexibility around programme and delivery was a key factor with our client deciding to progress with Howard Civil Engineering.
Due to the site constraints, we employed a ‘just in time’ delivery strategy to best manage the limited space onsite and overcome the challenging site logistics. Furthermore, with our head office and plant yard just over three miles away we were able to use this valuable off site space for prefabricating steel and constructing formwork/falsework.
Praise from our stakeholders
"Unforeseen ground conditions had caused a delay to the groundworks package (undertaken by others) but Howard Civil Engineering worked with us to establish a delivery that maintained the main contract programme. [Howard Civil Engineering's] openness and flexibility around programme and delivery was a key factor with us choosing [them] as one of our main delivery partners. The use of their local plant yard for prefabricating steel and constructing formwork/falsework helped us manage the limited space onsite and overcome the challenging site logistics. On an extremely constrained site, Howard Civil Engineering delivered a quality project and we would not hesitate to work with them again."
