Background

Replacing a prominent 1960s office building in the centre of York overlooking the historic city walls, Hudson Quarter will provide a combined residential, retail and office development creating 127 new flats.
Caddick Construction was awarded the design and build by Palace Capital Developments in February 2019; commencing with the demolition of the former building.

Three concrete frames and one steel frame will make up four blocks in total around a landscaped central courtyard. Once complete, this site will comprise three concrete residential blocks totalling 122,000 sq ft and one 34,500 sq ft steel-framed Grade A office block with an additional 5000 sq m of commercial space. External works will include hard and soft landscaping and 100 surface parking spaces.
