Hard Ings Road

Client: Bradford Council

Value: £2.8 million
Location: Keighley
Contract Period: Commenced April 2019
Contract Type: NEC3 Option A

Background

Howard Civil Engineering are undertaking S278 works on the Hard Ings Road scheme in Keighley, Bradford, on behalf of Bradford Council.

The A650 is a key thoroughfare between Keighley and Bradford and is predominantly a dual carriageway except for Hard Ings Road, which is a pinch point for traffic.

Our improvement works for Hard Ings Road will see the existing road widened into a dual carriageway and the implementation of an extra lane on Beechcliffe Roundabout to ensure a reduction in congestion and an increase in road safety.

The reduced congestion along Hard Ings Road is set to increase investment opportunities in the area and increase economic growth.

The scheme for the Hard Ings Road is being developed by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC). The scheme has received investment through the West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund as part of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growth Deal - a £1 billion package of government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region.
